Hi Friends, welcome to my bakery!

I’m Jen, owner/baker of Little Sour Bakes.

My microbakery is inspected and licensed and focuses on all things sourdough.

I am located in Chalfont and deliver all over Bucks and Montgomery counties and other nearby Greater Philly areas.

I started my sourdough journey in June 2024 and baked here and there but it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with diabetes in March of 2025 that I started taking sourdough seriously. I had heard that breads and goods baked with sourdough starter would not spike blood sugar and thought it was too good to be true. Curiosity got to me and I started testing the theory. Turned out to be true! I made breads and cookies and cinnamon rolls and ate them all and none of them spiked my numbers the way that regular yeasted breads and goodies did. Of course, it was still a carb and spiked me as all carbs do, but the number did not get as high or stay elevated for as long. And my numbers did even better if I ate my meal in a certain order: veggies/proteins and fats first and then carbs. Being diagnosed as diabetic in my mid thirties was pretty devastating as a carb loving person. There was A LOT of ugly crying and “WHY ME” days where I wanted to eat nothing at all so finding a solution in sourdough was nothing short of amazing. Now I want to share my breads and bakes with everyone, diabetic or not! None of my bakes have soy lecithin, preservatives or additives (yes, even the chocolate!) and I source high-quality ingredients to bake the most delicious and healthy breads and treats.
